Sibyl Blanks Melton

Sibyl Blanks Melton, 82, died Friday, October 1, 2010  at Stonecrest Medical Center in Smyrna following an extended illness.

A native of Cannon County, she was a resident of Woodbury.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Clyde and Gladys Walker Blanks; her husband, Charles Edward Melton and her daughter, Renee Melton Lewis.

Survivors include her Son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Karen Melton of Woodbury; grandchildren:  Bridget (Grant) Holt of Woodbury,  Chanda (Gary) Willis of Goodlettsville, Chase (Penny) Lewis,  Crystal (Chis) Mason & Brittany (Rick) Maddox all of Woodbury; great Grandchildren:  Amber & Ashley Campbell, Anaston Holt, McKenzie & Landry Mason, Zach & Garrett Basham and Noah Maddox; and sisters:  Aubrey (Ebert) Gilley of Brentwood, Ethel (Raymond) Pedigo of Woodbury and Geneva (Sterling) Harrell of Murfreesboro.

Mrs. Melton was a retired Civil Service Secretary and a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ.

Visitation is Sunday, Oct. 3, from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at  2 p.m. on Monday, October 4, 2010 with Bro. Herb Alsup and Bro. Al Bugg officiating. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

Burial will be in Riverside Gardens.
