The rewards of a great career continue to stockpile for Cannon County senior Abbey Sissom.
The MTSU signee and 2014 Class AA Miss Basketball has been selected to play in the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association (TACA) East-West All-Star game Saturday (April 5).
Sissom will play for the East squad. The game, which is being held in conjunction with the NCAA Women’s Final Four in Nashville, will be played at University School of Nashville at 3 p.m.
Sissom’s older sister, Emily, also was selected to play in the TACA All-Star game.
“It is an honor to be selected to play in this All-Star game,” Sissom said. “It is another opportunity to represent Cannon County.”
As an added treat, Sissom will be playing for her high school coach once more as Lionette veteran Head Coach Michael Dodgen has been selected as an assistant for the East. He will assist Riverdale Head Coach Corey Barrett.
“It’s a great honor for any kid to be chosen to play in an All-Star game,” said Dodgen, who was East Head Coach in 2009.
“Emily had this same opportunity. For us to have two representatives in this game is good for Cannon County.”
