Three Local Men Charged With Assault

Three local men were charged with assault recently following domestic violence-related incidents.

• Terry Scott Austin, 101 Laurel St., Woodbury, was charged with domestic assault on April 15 by Woodbury Patrolman Chris Brown. Austin allegedly caused the victim to fear imminent bodily injury and/or harm by yelling at her and not letting her leave the residence. She then got out of the residence and locked herself in a car and called the police. Austin was also found to have used a knife as a threat to harm himself. Bond was set at $3,500. Initial court date is May 10.

• Kyle Edward Miller, 11894 Jim Cummings Hwy., Bradyville, was charged with domestic assault on April 11 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Gullett. Miller allegedly chased the victim across a yard and into her vehicle. After the victim was able to get down the road in her vehicle, she turned around coming back toward Woodbury, when Miller came at her vehicle head on in his truck, stopping in front of her and blocking the roadway. This occurred with their two-year-old child in the vehicle with the victim. Bond was set at $2,500. Initial court date is June 7.

• Shannon C. Fitts, 2067 Bush Rd., Readyville, was charged with aggravated assault on April 17 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Tommy Barker. Fitts allegedly engaged in a verbal argument with Eugenia Keasling in the driveway of his residence. Fitts then walked back into his residence to retrieve a Ruger 22/45 semi automatic pistol and returned to the yard with the pistol in hand. Fitts stated he fired one shot into the ground to scare Keasling and get her off his property. Bond was set at $8,000. Initial court date is June 7.
