United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties has announced its plan for investing in Rutherford and Cannon Counties during the upcoming year. Around 200 attendees joined United Way at the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce’s Business Before Hours hosted by Middle Tennessee Athletics.
Jim Thompson, 2013 United Way Campaign Chair, announced that from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 United Way provided a one to nine return on investment back into the community. Thompson said, “For every one dollar you invest into United Way’s operation, nine dollars are returned in services and impact value into Rutherford and Cannon Counties.” Thompson also referenced the fact that if United Way went away today, there would be an annual $3.5 million dollar void in our community.
United Way partners with 52 agencies to provide 69 programs in the areas of education, income, health and rebuilding lives. These programs are held accountable for producing outcomes that improve the quality of life for all in Rutherford and Cannon Counties.
Thompson concluded his remarks with stating that the goal for the 2013 United Way campaign is $3.6 million.
