Woodbury Tennis Players Dominate Murfreesboro Summer League

Two Woodbury tennis players, Susan Melton and Steve Smith, teamed up to win Murfreesboro Tennis Association's summer league-first session.

Held at Old Fort Park's tennis complex, the two went undefeated in the nine week session playing different opponents each week.

Match play was the best 2 of 3 sets, with the third set being a championship tiebreaker if necessary. Melton/Smith only lost one set in 9 matches, and that being in the last match with one of the opponents being a former 4 year Western Kentucky tennis player.

Final match score was 6-7, 7-5, 1 (10-6). MTA offers tennis lessons and leagues through out the summer.
